The E36 had the best balance for a stock car, the e46 was plush but not easy or cheap to work on. That being said, the E30 is the best car for the long haul, much more fun to dice in traffic and easier to work on. 01-01-2013, 12:48 PM #3. omarmarji. Vader Solutions.
A BMW can make a good first car, but it depends on the model. A new model BMW makes a very poor first car because they are extremely expensive, maintenance is high, and insurance is costly. But older model BMWs are cheap to maintain, reliable, and are extremely safe cars. In this article, you will see that some BMWs make pretty good first cars
The E36 is definitely a better car to daily drive and all it needs to drift well is an M3 LSD (or welded) and some lowering springs or coilovers. The same goes for a 240sx. The stock E36 is faster than a stock 240sx. Parts are easier to find for a 240sx, and they are a lot cheaper.
I built an ls1 swapped e36 as my first real "project car" without much prior experience working on cars. I had a Mazdaspeed3 before that I did stuff like swap exhaust on and other bolt ons. The e36 is a great project car and it felt great to work on during the build process. Nothing is overly complicated.
A BMW can be a great first car as they have a good safety record and are generally reliable, but the price of owning one must be considered. Newer and higher-end models will be expensive to buy and maintain. However, lower-end models can be relatively inexpensive in the used car market.
From the ground-up, automotive enthusiasts are responsible for this car even existing in the first place. And it drives exactly as it should. 1) E36 M3 (North America)
The car we’re thrilled to be offering is chassis number E36A-033, which was the very first Super Touring Class 2-specification 318i, built as a factory BMW Motorsport entrant in the 1993 British Touring Car Championship. In 1992, the BMW of Great Britain satellite team had represented the Munich marque in the BTCC.
